Arsenal produced a commanding display at the Emirates this afternoon, easing past Nottingham Forest in a performance that left pundit Michael Dawson particularly impressed. The Gunners, who had suffered defeat in their previous league outing, were fully aware of the importance of responding strongly, and they delivered with authority.
Forest arrived in North London buoyed by the memory of having held Arsenal to a draw in their last meeting. That result had given them some belief that they might once again frustrate Mikel Arteta’s side. However, Arsenal showed from the opening whistle that they were determined to dictate proceedings and deny the visitors any opportunity to build momentum.
From the outset, Arsenal controlled possession, dictated the tempo, and created chances with fluid attacking football. Forest struggled to keep the ball, repeatedly losing it in dangerous areas, which prevented them from building any meaningful opportunities of their own. The gulf in quality quickly became evident, with Arsenal piling pressure on the visiting defence throughout the match.
The Gunners’ dominance was reflected in the scoreline, as they found the net three times and could easily have scored more had they been more clinical in front of goal. Their control of the game was total, limiting Forest to scraps and ensuring that the visitors posed no real threat at any stage. For Arsenal, it was not only a much-needed return to winning ways but also a statement that they remain focused on maintaining their challenge at the top of the table.

Following the final whistle, Dawson gave his assessment of the performance, highlighting just how straightforward the afternoon had been for Arsenal. Speaking on Sky Sports, he remarked: “It’s been a stroll in the park for Arsenal this afternoon. It’s been one-way traffic.”
His comments neatly summed up the nature of the contest. Arsenal’s ability to dominate every aspect of the game meant they were rarely troubled, and it proved to be one of the more comfortable fixtures they have faced this season.
For Arteta and his players, the result represents not only three valuable points but also the opportunity to build momentum. The focus will now turn to sustaining this level of performance and stringing together a winning run to keep pace in the title race.
