Rhian Wilkinson has announced a 26-player squad as her Wales side look to build on a strong start to their UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign.
Wales will face Denmark at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday 4 April (KO 7:15pm) before travelling to Gothenburg to face Sweden at the Gamla Ullevi Stadium on Tuesday 8 April (KO 6pm).
Rachel Rowe returns to the squad after missing the opening matches of the campaign in February due to injury, whilst Tianna Teisar and Poppy Soper are also recalled to the squad.
Mared Griffiths and Scarlett Hill will be involved in the WU19 squad for the international window, taking part in the EURO Round 2 League A qualifiers in south Wales.
Rhian Wilkinson’s side’s last outing against Sweden in Wrexham in February ended in an impressive 1-1 draw against a team ranked fifth in the world at the time. The last time Cymru faced Denmark was in October 2023, which ended in a narrow 2-1 defeat.
Wales’ Nations League campaign is seen as the perfect opportunity to prepare for this summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 finals in Switzerland, which will be the side’s first ever appearance in a major tournament.
The Denmark match in Cardiff in April and the Italy match at the Swansea.com Stadium in June will be the side’s final matches in Wales ahead of the tournament. Tickets for the Denmark match are available to purchase on the FAW ticketing website, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, with discounts available for Red Wall members.
