Radek Vitek is currently on loan at Bristol City from Manchester United
Radek Vitek has enjoyed a strong campaign on loan at Bristol City since joining from Manchester United in the summer.
The goalkeeper has cemented himself as first-choice goalkeeper at Ashton Gate, earning praise for his performances under Gerhard Struber.
However, the Austrian has since been replaced by Roy Hodgson for the final weeks of the season, but it’s unlikely to jeopardise his place in the team.
Vitek has come through the Man United academy system, and he has previously gone on loan to Accrington Stanley and Blau-Weiß Linz.
The 22-year-old has kept nine clean sheets from 34 appearances in the Championship this season, conceding on 45 occasions.
But his impressive performances won’t be enough for the Robins to retain their place in the play-offs from last season, with the team now effectively out of the running for a top six finish.

It has been reported by the Daily Mail that Vitek has no interest in returning to Man United in the summer just to become a number two choice.
It is believed that the Premier League side are targeting a fee of £10 million in order to sell him amid the prospect of a permanent stay with Bristol City.
Andre Onana is set to return to Old Trafford in the summer following his loan spell with Besiktas, and he is in line for a bumper pay rise as long as Michael Carrick’s side earns a place in the Champions League for next season.
This will add further competition for Vitek, who will have to displace summer signing Senne Lammens in order to earn his place in the first team squad when his loan at Ashton Gate comes to a close.
Lammens arrived from Royal Antwerp at the end of the summer transfer window last year, and went into the starting lineup in September and hasn’t looked back since.
So a summer exit could well be on the cards for Vitek, who also has Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton to compete with for a position in the Man United squad.
However, no decision has yet been made on who will be the Red Devils’ head coach next season, which could yet offer some hope for Vitek.
Carrick has been in charge on an interim basis since January, with the team now third in the Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Bristol City are 16th in the Championship, and Hodgson’s first game in charge will come on Friday afternoon in a 3pm kick-off away to Charlton Athletic.
While £10 million could be a decent chunk of change for the Robins, it could be a great bit of business if they could sign Vitek permanently.
The goalkeeper has been impressive this season, and he certainly has the potential to prove himself at a Premier League level longer-term.
A £10 million fee for a 22-year-old shot-stopper could appreciate in value quite quickly if he can continue to perform and develop at Bristol City.
However, the Robins are likely to face competition for his signature, and there are no guarantees that they will be able to sign him, even if they are willing to pay the £10 million fee.
