Rangers are interested in bringing Sheffield United forward Ryan One to Ibrox, according to Ben Jacobs.
Gers manager Derek McInnes wants to win the Scottish Premiership title next season and the Light Blues have been strengthening their squad with top additions so far.
The Bears are now eyeing a deal for One but could face competition from Leicester City for the 20-year-old Scotland youth international.
The Rangers target spent the second half of last season in the English League One with Lincoln City, bagging five goals in seven starts to help them secure promotion to the Championship.
One made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in October 2023 but has largely played in the lower divisions for the majority of his career.
The Hamilton Academical academy graduate has played in the Scottish Championship, Scottish League One and the English Championship.
Rangers have identified his potential and are willing to bring him back home next season.
One is a versatile forward who can play on both wings and as a number 9.
The Light Blues could do with his services in the final third as they look to put last season’s disappointment behind them.
However, convincing him to move to Ibrox will not be straightforward as suitors in England are expected to join Rangers and Leicester in his pursuit.
The Bears have signed Dan Neil, Ivan Pandur, Ben Godfrey, Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie and Cammy Devlin so far this summer.
McInnes is looking to make more quality additions to have a realistic chance of finally beating Celtic, and a concrete move for One could be on the cards.
