Rangers boss Danny Rohl has insisted that the pressure to win at Ibrox is ‘more brutal’ than anything he experienced at Bayern Munich.
The Gers have once again finished the season without silverware after missing out on the Scottish Premiership title, managing just one win in the post-split fixtures.
Their collapse across the final five matches of the campaign ultimately proved costly, as they finished third behind champions Celtic and Hearts, missing out on the top-two finish required to secure Champions League qualification.
However, Rohl’s work at the club has not gone unnoticed, as he has garnered interest from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
The 37-year-old came in to replace Russell Martin and rejuvenated the Gers squad to make a push for the title, but ultimately crumbled during the final stages of the season, and now he believes that ‘strong decisions’ must be taken this summer to get back into winning ways.

The German manager admitted that the demands at Ibrox are ‘more brutal’ than at Bayern Munich, with every detail subjected to constant scrutiny and the club’s expectations difficult to meet with such a young squad.
He has also claimed that it is difficult to celebrate victories euphorically and managers cannot afford to let defeats get the better of them, while admitting the club need calm and composure at the moment.
Rohl told German daily Bild: “We’re well aware that the team need leaders.
“You can’t meet the demands with just young players.

“This club is extremely special and demanding.
“And I’ve experienced Bayern Munich, I know the pressure to win titles there.
“It’s even more brutal here.
“Because here, too, the media and everyone around you are constantly scrutinising you.
“You can’t celebrate victories too euphorically, and you can’t let defeats get you down too much.
“The team needs calm and composure.”
After suffering a disastrous end to the campaign, pressure will be on the club to improve next season, and Rohl has confirmed that the club’s owners are fully behind his long-term vision at Ibrox.
The Glasgow heavyweights will have to rediscover success without club legend James Tavernier, who is set to depart this summer, and a former Gers striker has lifted the lid on the significant void his exit is expected to leave next season.
Rangers will be searching for a successor to Tavernier during the summer window and could also look to retain Tottenham Hotspur loanee Mikey Moore as they aim to challenge for silverware next season.
With Andrew Cavenagh confirming that Rohl will remain beyond the summer, attention will now turn to whether the German can restore the consistency Rangers showed before the split, having lost just once after his arrival prior to their late-season collapse.
