Claudio Ranieri addressed the media after Roma’s elimination from the Coppa Italia.
The Giallorossi came out defeated from the San Siro, with Milan advancing to the semifinal after beating Roma 3-1.
In his post-match interview with Sport Mediaset Ranieri said, “Congratulations to Milan, they have incredible quality, especially up front.”
“We played against a great team, we tried everything. We had chances in the first half and instead we conceded. We didn’t want to concede counterattacks, but against these teams it’s difficult.”
“Our regret tonight? Dovbyk’s offside. I can’t reproach my guys for anything, I congratulated them after the match.”
“Let’s stay calm and move on… I’m curious to see how the team will react, Venezia will be a difficult opponent.”
“We must be aware that we are doing our best. The boys believe in what we do and that is the most important thing.”
“Tonight we were less brilliant in our gameplan. I was very angry about this. I would like to go vertical right away but it is not easy.”
“We have to work harder, it is not easy for the boys to get used to three coaches in one season. I thank them because they always give their all. Today we made a few mistakes, we were unable to get back into the game.”
“Shomurodov? I asked him to do what he had done against Napoli. He spent a lot of energy against Napoli. Even though he played a good game, he was unable to do everything he had done against Napoli.”
“That’s normal, we played our game anyway. In the last few games we had limited counterattacks, but it’s normal to suffer them against this Milan side.”
