Barcelona and Manchester United have reportedly agreed to a loan move for Marcus Rashford, which includes an option to buy.

Rashford is set to take on a new challenge in Spain, joining Barcelona on a loan deal.

The Catalans will pay 100% of the English forward’s salary, who has reportedly taken a substantial wage cut to secure the move. The option to buy is valued at approximately £30 million [€35m], per reports from Spain.

The 27-year-old has favoured a move to the Spanish champions since it was made clear that his future lies away from Old Trafford.

After falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim, Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa in the winter transfer window of the 2024-25 season, where he netted four goals in 17 appearances, also providing six assists. His season was cut short by a hamstring injury in April, missing the final four games of the campaign.

The winger made his debut for The Red Devils first-team in 2016 and has since scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for the club.

The deal sees Barcelona reinforce the left wing position, where they were unable to secure other targets such as Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and Liverpool’s Luis Díaz.

Williams is understood to have had agreed personal terms with The Blaugrana but opted to stay with the Basque club, signing a ten-year contract extension. Díaz, who also generated interest from Bayern Munich, was deemed not for sale.

Barcelona have also completed two other deals in this window so far, bringing in Joan García from city rivals Espanyol and young talent Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen.
