Following the match, the Dane earned plaudits from Ruben Amorim. However, the United head coach stopped short of offering any guarantees over his future at Old Trafford.

United are aggressively pursuing a new striker to lead Amorim’s attack, and this could leave Hojlund in limbo.

AC Milan hold talks with Hojlund’s camp

According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan are interested in signing Hojlund.

Despite his struggles in England, the Denmark international’s reputation in Italy remains promising, owing to his sensational short stint at Atalanta before a big-money move to United.

The Italian newspaper claim that Milan are in the market for a new number nine and have Hojlund on their list.

It is understood that the 22-year-old’s agent is exploring options for his client, and in the process, he held discussions with the Serie A giants.

The Rossoneri could intensify their interest if United show willingness to listen to loan offers with a buy option or obligation under certain conditions.

RB Leipzig are keen on signing Hojlund

RB Leipzig are also interested in Hojlund, and have enquired about his situation at United.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Leipzig have requested Hojlund as part of their negotiations over a deal for Benjamin Sesko.

The Bundesliga giants are demanding a fee in the region of €80 million for Sesko. As such, a player-plus-cash deal involving Hojlund could prove to be a win-win situation for all parties.
