The atmosphere surrounding Raúl Asensio has grown increasingly tense, both on and off the pitch. Currently under investigation for the alleged publication of intimate videos, Asensio now finds himself navigating not only legal scrutiny but also open hostility during matches away from the Santiago Bernabéu.

This troubling trend was on full display once again during Real Madrid’s recent 2–1 league victory over Real Sociedad. For the second time this year, venomous chants of “Asensio, die” rang clearly from the stands. Yet this time, unlike in a Copa del Rey match back in February when referee José María Sánchez Martínez paused play in response to the abuse, the match continued without interruption.

Despite the audible and targeted nature of the chants—all captured by television cameras—match official Jesús Gil Manzano opted not to halt the game, nor did he include any mention of the incident in his post-match report. The omission has raised questions, leaving many to wonder why such serious abuse was effectively overlooked while a similar situation months earlier prompted immediate action.
