Rayo Vallecano complain of late-night fireworks outside Strasbourg hotel before Conference League semi-final

Rayo Vallecano complained of fireworks set off outside their Strasbourg hotel in the early hours ahead of Thursday's Europa Conference League semi-final.

The Spanish side arrived on Wednesday for the tie at La Meinau, which kicks off at 21:00 on Thursday.

Rayo won the first leg 1-0. The winner will reach the first European final in its history.

The club said in a post that pyrotechnics were launched at 2am outside their hotel, sharing footage on X and saying those responsible tried to stop them resting in Strasbourg.

Before Rayo, Atlético Madrid were also disrupted by night-time fireworks in London before their Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal, which ended in a 0-1 defeat.
