Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "We did of course have hope. The belief grew throughout the match. When we scored to make it 2-0., we had the feeling that something very, very big could happen here today. We believed in it until the end. Big respect to the team for this performance. What they did today was fantastic. We were not knocked out today, but rather a week ago in Barcelona."
Serhou Guirassy (to Prime): "I'm proud because we played a great game and I think the fans were very satisfied. They saw good football. The 4-0 scoreline in Barcelona was slightly too much to come back from. It's a shame that we were too far behind in the match of the year. That will serve us as a lesson for future matches. But we fought until the end. Barcelona have a brilliant team, we're also a brilliant team. It's lovely to be the top goalscorer in the Champions League. There are very good players. Being first means that I'm a good striker. But I can't do it alone, without the team. It's a shame that the competition ends today."
Karim Adeyemi (in the mixed zone): "It's simply outstanding with the fans. They carried us the entire game. We gave it our all for ourselves, but also for them. It was not enough in the end, we simply messed up in the first match. The team produced a really good performance today. From the first minute, we attacked intensively and defended on the front foot. We wanted to score a goal very early on and we managed that. And we should have even scored a second goal in the five minutes after that. We had a really good foothold in the game and implemented precisely what we had set out to do – precisely what the people wished for today. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough in the end. We inflicted a first defeat of this calendar year on Barcelona. I think they were a bit unsure of themselves at times, that's how it felt."
Niklas Süle (to Prime): "I think that we're all in agreement that we messed it up in the first leg. I haven't played so many games for Borussia Dortmund in which we stood together like that, where we fought like that. Everyone in the stadium realised that we believed we could do it. I'm extremely proud of the team. The question is why we don't always play like that in the Bundesliga. Hopefully we'll put in a similar performance here in front of our fans against Gladbach on Sunday."
Pascal Groß (to Prime): "We were aggressive from the beginning, went forward very courageously, won most of the challenges and managed to get in behind their high line, which is well known, on one or two occasions. We played a very good game, I think. Unfortunately we scored an own goal via a very good player today. Ramy played outstandingly and ensured that they could not turn up the heat, that the match remained in their half. The ball slid across his foot. Very bitter, of course. We knew that if we conceded a goal, things would be very difficult. But I think we played in such a way until the last second that the stadium could sense that we still believed we could do it. That meant that the stadium also believed in it. The match in Barcelona makes it a bitter elimination because you could see that we can actually hold our own."Transcribed by Boris Rupert
