The Bernabeu faithful were treated to an impressive outing as Real Madrid secured the victory against Getafe and continue to put pressure on the table toppers Barcelona.

Brahim Díaz received a start instead of Arda Güler as a front three took the field with Kylian Mbappe on the left and Rodrygo as the striker.

Getafe defender Allan Nyom took a liking towards Antonio Rüdiger and was aggressively marking him while Real Madrid received a corner. The 36-year-old received a yellow card for pushing the German down inside the box during the corner. Just a few minutes later, he committed the same act and this time, the referee awarded Real Madrid a penalty.

Instead of Kylian Mbappe, it was Jude Bellingham who took the penalty – and he took it with ease as the Englishman slotted the ball to the right side of the keeper, who had already lost his balance while going towards the left.

Los Blancos took a deserving lead and it seemed like there was more to come since 17th-placed Getafe did not seem like posing a challenge for the quality Real Madrid possessed.

Fran García won the ball back, played a pass to Fede Valverde who played a well-timed ball to Jude Bellingham. The Englishman seemed in supreme touch as his sumptuous through ball landed in the path of Mbappe who scored a fabulous goal as the ball ricochet from the post and into the net.

The Frenchman was delighted with this call as shown by his celebrations and it was evident how badly he needed this goal.

The 1st half ended with Getafe having just one shot at goal and Real Madrid looking like having already won the game.

Los Blancos began the 2nd half on a similar note as the men in white threatened for more as they had a penalty rightfully overturned and Brahim very nearly missing a chance to score the third of the night.

Getafe seemed a much better side in this half and threatened the goal a lot more as compared to the opening 45 minutes.

Christantus Uche caused the Madrid defence some trouble as his shot hit the post as well but the Nigerian was subbed off after being on the pitch for just 20 minutes.

Real Madrid’s midfield operated on a different level after Luka Modric and Arda Güler’s introduction as the duo replaced Bellingham and Rodrygo.

The Croatian in particular, almost recorded an assist after Fede took a typical “Fede” shot from just outside the box and David Soria was forced into making a difficult save.

Kylian Mbappe had a brilliant chance to score a brace in a one on one chance as he went over the goalkeeper but ultimately lost his balanced and fluffed the chance.

Real Madrid ended up with a fairly easy win over Getafe and now begin to close in on arch rivals FC Barcelona as Los Blancos are just a point behind them with a game in hand.

Speaking after the match, Carlo Ancelotti let everyone know that Bellingham had a problem with his neck and he would recover in the next few days

The backline of Madrid put on a stellar show, including Lucas Vazquez who had a solid night after a string of bad performances.

Raul Asencio and Rüdiger kept their third consecutive La Liga clean sheet with the youngster in particular continuing to impress with his grit and determination.

All in all, Carlo Ancelotti could not have asked for a much better game after the Anfield loss. Next up, Real Madrid travel to San Mames to take on Atheltic Bilbao on 4th December.
