A new name has quietly entered the European transfer spotlight, and it is already causing tension between two of the continent’s biggest clubs.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are both closely tracking the rapid rise of Ayyoub Bouaddi, the 18-year-old midfielder currently impressing in Ligue 1 with Lille.

The outlet mentions that PSG were among the first elite clubs to seriously follow Bouaddi’s development.

The Parisian giants see him as a natural fit for their midfield rebuild and have been monitoring his performances week after week. His proximity and familiarity with French football only strengthen their interest.

However, the same report highlights what could become PSG’s biggest problem.

Bouaddi is no longer flying under the radar, as several top European clubs have added him to their watchlists.

In fact, at one stage, rumours suggested that Arsenal had already reached an agreement ahead of the winter transfer window, but that information has since been dismissed as inaccurate.

While PSG continue to evaluate their move, Real Madrid are also working quietly in the background.

The Spanish club see Bouaddi as a midfielder who fits their long-term vision and have already sent scouts to follow Lille matches closely.

They aim to gather detailed reports on his positioning, decision-making, and ability to control space in the centre of the pitch.

That said, Madrid are fully aware that signing Bouaddi will not be straightforward, as Lille recently extended his contract until 2029.

This not only secures his short-term future but also places the French club in a strong negotiating position.

Any club hoping to prise him away will have to meet serious financial demands, as Lille have no intention of selling cheaply.
