Real Madrid academy players have been the talk of the town in European football after the turn of the year.

While players like Thiago Pitarch have made a strong impression in the Real Madrid first-team, some former academy stars are doing extremely well elsewhere.

One such player is Jacobo Ramon, currently plying his trade for Como. The young defender has been linked with a return to Santiago Bernabeu following his impressive performances under Cesc Fabregas.

Real Madrid are considering 2027 return

Ramon’s Como teammate Nico Paz is expected to return to Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window.

As for Ramon himself, Real Madrid are strongly considering his return to the Bernabeu as well, reports Matteo Moretto (h/t MARCA).

Even if a return to the Bernabeu is not possible in the upcoming summer, the club are strongly considering the possibility of bringing the young defender in the summer of 2027.

Quite similar to the Como deal, Real Madrid had embedded a cheap buyback clause when the club decided to sell the defender to Como for just €2.5 million last summer.

Real Madrid’s first buyback clause can be activated this summer for just €8 million. However, it appears Los Blancos want Ramon to further develop his game at Como under Fabregas.

The club are more likely to activate its buyback clause in the summer of 2027, when the value of the clause will increase to €9 million.

If they can’t sign him up in 2027, the defender’s buyback clause would expire in 2028, when it will be valued at €10 million.

Real Madrid, therefore, have a solid three-year buffer as they look to continue monitoring the performances of the young centre-back.
