Following a disappointing result against Mallorca, Real Madrid will look to shift focus to the upcoming game against Bayern Munich.
This will be the first of their two-legged quarterfinal encounter in the UEFA Champions League, and arguably the most important one yet for Alvaro Arbeloa.
The Real Madrid coach is once again feeling the heat, after handing Barcelona a seven-point lead at the top. Meaning failing to triumph against Bayern in the UCL could pose serious question marks over his long-term future at the club.
Aware of the task at hand, Arbeloa is looking to make three key changes when Real Madrid take on Bayern Munich this midweek.
According to Defensa Central, Arbeloa is looking to make a shift that would see Eduardo Camavinga, Manuel Ángel, and Brahim Díaz drop to the bench as the manager seeks to build a more compact and cohesive unit.

Arbeloa knows that Tuesday’s clash at the Bernabéu is a definitive crossroad. With only eight league matches remaining and a daunting gap to Barcelona, the Champions League represents his last realistic chance at job security.
The hierarchy has signalled that only a major trophy will guarantee his continuity next season. Failure to progress would likely trigger a massive squad overhaul and a change in the dugout, as Arbeloa’s future is now tied exclusively to winning silverware.
The squad remains self-critical, acknowledging that inconsistent motivation has hampered their domestic campaign.
With several players facing uncertain futures, this fixture serves as a final proving ground to show they deserve a place in the squad.
Against a lethal Bayern side, there is no margin for error; only a higher level of determination will keep Arbeloa’s journey at Madrid alive.
