While getting their needed reinforcements for the next season and completing their desired exit operations, another matter that would be occupying the minds of decision-makers at Real Madrid would be some of their former players on whom they still have some rights.
Among these players, the situation of the midfielder Nico Paz has been of primary concern to the Merengue club, as he has been one of the players who has shown the most growth during the last season. As a result, the white club would be considering their options on how best they can utilize the player’s rapid growth.
In this regard, some recent reports claimed that they have already decided to exercise their €9 million buyback option on the player. However, the Argentine’s future in the Real Madrid team is still not guaranteed, as Los Vikingos have also offered Como the chance to immediately re-sign the player for €60 million.
This sum appears to be a bit out of the Italian club’s range, but even if they do not sign him, his future is not assured at the Merengue club. This is particularly the case as Inter Milan also want him, and as Diario AS has reported, the Nerazzurri club’s interest can unlock another door for Real Madrid to get one of their own targets, Alessandro Bastoni.
The Italians have valued their center-back at €70 million, and are not too keen to let him leave for a lower sum, and this was one of the reasons why Barcelona opted out of his signing. Now, the defender can prove to be a useful asset for them as the Nerazzurri look to land Paz this summer.
For now, it remains to be seen whether the involved clubs would consider this possibility going forward. However, one barrier they can face in such an operation would be FIFA’s regulations, which forbid bridging transfers, and require at least 16 weeks of time between Real Madrid buying Nico Paz back and then transferring him to Inter Milan. However, this can be overcome with a loan with a mandatory purchase clause.
