Real Madrid legend Gareth Bale did not hold back on Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius after Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat at Anfield in the Champions League.

Speaking on the CBS Sports set, Gareth Bale delivered a scathing analysis of Real Madrid's attacking performance against Liverpool on Tuesday night. According to him, Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior lacked creativity in the final third. "I think it was that spark that Henry and I were talking about which was missing: Mbappé and Vinicius just couldn't create any magic in the final 30 meters to reignite Real Madrid. It was a bit disappointing to see that in this area, we didn't see the quality we've come to expect from Real Madrid players," he explained.

Frustrated, Gareth Bale believes the two attacking stars are overcomplicating things: "It's frustrating, I think they're making life too difficult for themselves. Sometimes, they just need to test the defense. They're clearly faster than everyone else on the pitch. But I think maybe they don't do it because there's no one else in the box to get on the end of the crosses. They probably need that number nine."
