Real Madrid have opened talks with Lille for defender Leny Yoro, who has been earmarked as their top priority for the summer after signing Kylian Mbappe. The 18-year-old centre-back is believed to have reached an agreement on personal terms with Los Blancos.

As reported by Matteo Moretto, other interested parties Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United,  who are all willing to offer more to both Lille and Yoro, are aware of the fact that Real Madrid are in talks with the French side.

Moretto’s report is corroborated by MD, who say that the deal could be done as soon as this week. They mention an offer of €40m plus €10m in variables, although many others reporting on the matter, including Moretto, have suggested Los Blancos may offer much less. They are not looking to break the bank for a teenager out of contract next summer, and other reports have Lille lowering their initial €60m asking price.

With Nacho Fernandez’s exit confirmed, and Rafa Marin on the verge of signing for Napoli, Carlo Ancelotti only has David Alaba, Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger available in the middle of defence. Hence Yoro, who was initially talked about as a signing for next summer, has become a priority for Los Blancos, to save them finding a stop-gap for this season.
