Real Madrid are always looking to add exciting young players to their La Fabrica academy, and another talent has been identified in recent months. However, it will not be straightforward to sign him.

During the 2025 summer transfer window, Real Madrid were linked with a move for Gilberto Mora, who had previously attracted strong interest from Barcelona. The 16-year-old has been a revelation in Mexican football since his breakthrough in 2024, and he could now be set to take the next step in his career by joining a European giant.

Real Madrid could make their move for Mora as early as 2026, but if they do, they are likely to face competition. As per TBR Football (via CaughtOffside), Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea are also been on the forward, who has seven goals and two assists in 41 appearances for Tijuana.

Inter Miami are also credited with an interest in Mora, although it is seen as more likely that he moves to Europe – although he would have to wait until he turns 18 to do so, as per FIFA rules.

Mora would prefer to join Real Madrid

According to the report, Mora – who predominantly operates as a left winger – would prioritise a move to Real Madrid over the likes of Man United and Chelsea. And there would be scope for him to earn a first team spot upon arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2027, given that there is a good chance that one of Vinicius Junior or Rodrygo Goes would have departed by the time he’d arrive.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid make their move for Mora, but if so, he has every chance of following in the footsteps of someone like Franco Mastantuono, who arrived at Los Blancos in the summer and has already established himself as an important member of Xabi Alonso’s squad.
