Mbappe has been absent for the last couple of weeks after suffering knee discomfort and missed the 3-0 win over City in the first leg, despite resuming training.

However, the French forward, who is the Champions League's leading scorer this season with 13 goals, has been named in the travelling squad for tomorrow's return at the Etihad.

Also back is Bellingham, who has been out since early February with a thigh issue. There's further positive news withAlvaro Carreras and David Alaba involved after missing the first leg and the weekend win over Elche in La Liga.

The returns are a a massive boost for the Spanish side, who head to Manchester with confidence after last week's first-leg thrashing.

Federico Valverde scored a first-half hat-trick in the first leg at the Bernabeu to put Real Madrid in pole position to reach the quarter-finals.

The 3-0 win was only the second time that a Pep Guardiola side has lost by three goals in the first leg of aChampions League tie, after defeats to Barcelona (with Bayern Munich, 2014-15) and Liverpool (with Manchester City, 2017-18). Real Madrid have reached at least the quarter-finals in each of the last five seasons.

Real Madrid squad to face Manchester City:

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin, and Fran González.

Defenders: Carvajal, Alaba, Trent, Carreras, Fran García, Rüdiger, Huijsen, Diego Aguado, Mario Rivas.

Midfielders: Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Tchouameni, Arda Güler, Cestero, Manuel Ángel, Palacios, Thiago.
