Injury issues seem to be easing up big time for Real Madrid as we approach the resumption of the 2025/26 season following the end of the international break.
Ferland Mendy resumed training earlier this week after nearly six months out while both Kylian Mbappe and Franco Mastantuono are expected to be ready for Getafe despite returning with knocks from national team duty.
Now, there is more good news for Xabi Alonso & co. as two more injured stars have been spotted back in training.
Indeed, training images from earlier today showed that key defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal were back working on the pitch in what comes as a major boost for Real Madrid.
Trent has been out since mid-September, after suffering an injury in the UEFA Champions League clash against Marseille.
Carvajal, too, was sidelined soon after, with the veteran right-back’s injury occurring in the derby defeat to Atletico Madrid.
In Trent’s case, a recovery period of close to two months was suggested initially, which meant that his return was expected to take place some time in November. Carvajal, too, was expected to make his comeback early next month.
But, both players have worked very hard on their rehabilitation, having set their sights on making a comeback in time for the upcoming El Clasico on 26 October.
And, their efforts have seemingly paid off as both Carvajal and Trent were seen training individually on the pitch today, with the former even starting to work with the ball.
While their availability against Getafe is unlikely, it will be interesting to see if they return for the UCL clash against Juventus or wait until the Clasico later this month.
