Now, a report from Defensa Central suggests Real Madrid have intensified their efforts to sign Rodri in the coming summer.

The Spanish giants have intensified their contacts with the player’s representatives, hoping to lure him to Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

Rodri’s current contract at Manchester City expires in 2027 and the English giants have maintained that the player will be allowed to leave if he so wishes.

However, Man City are keen on extending the contract of the Spanish international, in an attempt to secure his long-term future in Manchester.

The report adds that Rodri generates total consensus within the Real Madrid ranks, as the club believe he is someone who can make a difference and bring back the stability in the middle of the park.

Rodri could be an ideal upgrade for someone like Eduardo Camavinga, who has struggled to showcase his worth and has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.

Not to mention, the former Atletico Madrid star could be a reasonably affordable option in the market given his contract situation. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming summer.
