Real Madrid megastar forward Vinicius Jr. will have a huge role to play for Brazil at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup in the summer.

The 25-year-old winger is set to be the centrepiece of the team Carlo Ancelotti is building and will need to step up in a big way once the tournament comes around.

Vinicius was unable to inspire the Selecao to a victory earlier this week against France, as they lost 2-1 in a friendly against France.

Vinicius a doubt for Croatia

Now, according to GE Globo, Vinicius is a doubt to face Croatia in Brazil’s upcoming friendly next week.

The 25-year-old attacker did not train with the rest of the group today and did only some work inside the gym while undergoing some treatment.

As such, there are now question marks over his availability to face Croatia on Tuesday night.

Real Madrid, for their part, will be watching the situation closely, given that they have some very important matches coming up right after the international break.

The Merengues will resume their campaign with a La Liga game against RCD Mallorca, following which they face Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

The hope will be that there is no major issue with the Brazilian international and him not playing against Croatia will be seen as a welcome move.

Meanwhile, another Real Madrid star, Aurelien Tchouameni, picked up a knock in the game against Brazil and is set to be rested for their next game against Colombia.
