Real Madrid’s search for a new manager is gathering pace, and while several high-profile names continue to dominate the conversation, a fresh option has now entered the frame – Julian Nagelsmann.

According to Jose Felix Diaz (via Ruben Martin YouTube), the current Germany national team coach has been offered to Real Madrid as the club assesses its next move. 

It is an interesting development, especially given the growing uncertainty surrounding the current setup.

The situation under Alvaro Arbeloa is becoming increasingly difficult to defend. 

With Real Madrid out of the Champions League and their La Liga challenge fading, the feeling inside the club is that change is no longer a possibility – it is becoming inevitable.

This is why discussions have already begun at the highest level.

Several options discussed

Two names continue to stand out internally are Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino. 

Both have been admired by the Madrid hierarchy for years and fit the profile the club typically looks for when making a major appointment.

Another name under consideration is Didier Deschamps, but his situation is far from straightforward and this is where Nagelsmann’s name becomes intriguing – but also complicated.

At 38, he represents a different kind of profile. Tactically sharp, modern in his approach, and already experienced at top clubs, he has built a respectable managerial record. 

His overall win rate sits above 54%, and with the German national team, he has recorded 19 wins from 31 matches, alongside six draws and six defeats.

On paper, it is solid. But Real Madrid rarely operate on “solid”.

Real Madrid’s expectations

At Real Madrid, the profile they are searching for requires a proven track record of winning at the very highest level, someone whose presence alone commands instant authority inside the dressing room.

And this is where doubts begin to surface around Nagelsmann. Despite his talent, he does not yet carry the same weight as the other candidates. 

Compared to someone like Klopp or even the legacy of a Carlo Ancelotti, the German lacks that elite-level pedigree that Real Madrid traditionally prioritise.

For now, while his name continues to be discussed, nothing has been decided by Real Madrid yet.
