While Real Madrid’s prospects of winning silverware looks quite appealing under Xabi Alonso, the club have already started thinking about next season.

One of the key talking points at Real Madrid is the renewal of Vinicius Jr., whose ongoing tussle with coach Alonso, is not having any bearing on the club’s desire to renew his contract.

Vinicius Junior renewal looks difficult

But as reported by SPORT, renewal for Vinicius looks difficult at the moment, as the Brazilian international is sticking to his guns right now.

Vinicius is keen on earning the same salary as Kylian Mbappe – something Real Madrid are not willing to offer. The club are prepared to pay the attacker a salary of €20 million, which could reach up to €25 million through bonuses.

But Vinicius wants more. The forward initially had a tough start to the season, but his recent revival has given the player some leverage.

Nevertheless, Vinicius is not ruling out an exit and Real Madrid, for their part, are open to sanctioning the sale of the Brazilian international as well, especially given his recent problems with Alonso.

Erling Haaland move on the table

Should Real Madrid move on from Vinicius, the club have a plan to go after Erling Haaland – their top attacking target at the moment.

The report points out that signing Haaland will not be easy for Real Madrid, but the club harbour a good relationship with his agent, Rafaela Pimienta, who has not closed the door on a potential move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite signing a new contract with Manchester City until 2034, Haaland himself does not rule out a move to Real Madrid either. And with the right price, anything could be possible.
