Real Madrid continue to show why they are considered one of the smartest clubs in Europe when it comes to planning for the future.
The latest example of that approach comes from their growing interest in Guille Gonzalez, a 17-year-old talent currently developing at Cadiz.
Reports from AS indicate that the club is not simply tracking his progress from afar.
In fact, Madrid have already begun internal work on a possible move in the January transfer window, with the objective of bringing the youngster into their academy system at Valdebebas.
The initial idea is for Gonzalez to start his journey with the Juvenil A side. This is seen as the best possible environment for a player of his age, allowing him to adapt to Madrid’s demands without being rushed.
At the same time, the door to Castilla would remain open, depending entirely on how quickly he develops and responds to the challenge.
What makes this move notable is the level of commitment involved. Real Madrid are prepared to invest close to €500,000 to secure his signing.
Furthermore, Gonzalez’s rapid rise at Cadiz explains much of that confidence. Despite his age, he is already a regular starter in the Division de Honour and has taken his first steps with the club’s reserve side.
That level of trust at such an early stage of his career has caught the attention of Madrid’s scouting department, who see him as a player ready for the next level.
For Real Madrid, this would be a gamble rather than a rushed decision. The club believe that with the right guidance at La Fabrica, Gonzalez could develop quickly and push towards Castilla in the near future.
For that, January is viewed as the perfect moment to act, allowing Madrid to stay ahead of potential competition.
