The second Clasico of the season is just a few hours away, and this time it will be played in Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both in the middle-east for their Spanish Super Cup campaign and both qualified for the finale after winning respective semifinals against Athletic Club and Mallorca.

The finale, however, is expected to be explosive as Barcelona will be gunning for their first trophy of the season and Real Madrid their revenge for the humiliation earlier this season.

Perez speaks ahead of the big game

Speaking to the media ahead of the Supercopa final in Saudi Arabia, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez sent out a special message to fans across the globe, especially those who are to attend the game later tonight.

“For our team, our players, and our coach, your presence and support is very important,” he began.

“We were able to see it last Thursday in the semi-final against a great rival like Mallorca and your strength will be essential this afternoon in the great final of the Spanish Super Cup, in a new Clasico against Barcelona,” he added, urging fans to come out in large numbers.

The president then spoke in depth about what Real Madrid stood for as an institution and how it was beyond just a football club.

“Our badge is part of the hearts of the people and all Real Madrid fans are a big family, regardless of location, nationality, language, religion, ideology, or culture.”

“We are going through one of the most successful periods of all time. Real Madrid is the only club to have won 6 Champions League titles in 10 years, and it didn’t just do it once, it has done it twice throughout history,” he added with pride.

Finally, he looked forward to the Clasico later tonight and expressed optimism over the team’s chances of lifting silverware once more.

“Tonight, at the King Abdullah stadium, we will try to share a new joy, although we know that it will be a very difficult game. That is why your presence and your support are so important.”

“We are convinced that our team will give everything to make Madrid happy. And you know very well that with this shield and with this shirt we never give up,” he concluded.
