Last night brought a double blow for Real Madrid as both Franco Mastantuono and Kylian Mbappe were confirmed to have sustained injuries while away with Argentina and France, respectively.
Mbappe suffered a relapse of his ankle sprain after playing for more than 80 minutes for France against Azerbaijan, while Mastantuono was sidelined with a muscle overload even before Argentina’s game vs Venezuela.
Both were soon released from their national team camps to return to Spain. Mbappe has already arrived and undergone tests at the club facilities, with reports revealing no serious injury.
Now, in yet another development which comes as a relief for Real Madrid, journalist Jose Luis Sanchez reports that a serious injury has been ruled out for Mastantuono as well.
The teenage prodigy has yet to undergo tests with the club’s medical staff and will be examined once he returns to Madrid.

But the muscle strain, which prompted his release from the Argentine national team camp, is not understood to be serious.
This will bring some relief within the Real Madrid camp, considering that Mastantuono has become a very important player under Xabi Alonso since arriving in the summer.
Indeed, the 18-year-old has established himself as a regular starter on the right flank and has added value to the team with his attacking intent and work rate off the ball.
The exact extent of the injury and the number of games he might miss, if any, will become clear once he is examined by Real Madrid’s staff. For now, though, a serious injury has been ruled out.
