Adam Wharton has emerged as a serious target for Real Madrid, who are actively seeking young, high-potential players to bolster their midfield, reports Fichajes.
The Crystal Palace midfielder, just 21 years old, has caught the attention of the club’s technical staff thanks to his tactical maturity and impressive performances in the Premier League.
The Merengues’ sporting department considers him to fit the profile of the type of player they want to bring in to gradually succeed the veteran members of their midfield.
However, the operation is not straightforward. Wharton is under contract with the London club until 2029, which strengthens Palace’s position in any negotiation.
The England international’s market value, estimated at around €45 million, further complicates any potential deal, as the Premier League side have no intention of lowering their financial demands.

At the club, there is strong belief in his future, and they are not inclined to rush into a sale.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have included the Englishman on a shortlist of options to reinforce their squad, though he is not the only candidate under consideration. The asking price could put the deal on hold while the club explores more accessible alternatives.
Regardless, Wharton is being closely followed, and his progress is not going unnoticed at Valdebebas.
In the meantime, the player continues to impress in the English league, gaining minutes and experience that could increase his value even further.
There has been no public comment from Wharton’s camp regarding a possible move, but interest from a club of Real Madrid’s stature inevitably creates a stir. Time will tell whether his future will intersect with that of the Spanish giants.
