Real Madrid star cuts his vacation short to return to training early | OneFootball

A member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid made the call to cut a recent ‘vacation’ short, to link back up with his teammates in Spain’s capital ahead of time.

That’s according to Marca, who highlight Thibaut Courtois as the player in question.

Goalkeeper Courtois is for his part fresh off playing a leading role for his native Belgium over the October international break.

Across a pair of World Cup qualifying fixtures against North Macedonia and Wales, the former Chelsea man saw out the full 90 minutes in both.

Courtois, in turn, was afforded some well-earned time to recover before returning to base at Valdebebas late this week.

As per a report from Marca, though:

‘Thibaut Courtois was the surprise of Real Madrid’s training session on Thursday.’

The shot-stopper, it is understood, was given until Friday to make his way back to Madrid by manager Xabi Alonso, but made clear his commitment to the cause by rejoining training a day early.
