A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid rebuffed several offers to depart the club over the summer.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Andriy Lunin as the player in question.
Shot-stopper Lunin is for his part fresh off an altogether underwhelming start to the new campaign.
Continuing to play 2nd fiddle to Real Madrid no.1 Thibaut Courtois, the Ukrainian is yet to take to the pitch in a competitive setting.
Save for an injury on Courtois’ part, this situation looks unlikely to be altered dramatically any time soon, either.
As alluded to above, though, had Lunin made a different call over the summer, the 26-year-old could well have found himself playing an altogether more prominent role elsewhere.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Lunin had offers to leave this summer. There was talk of interest from two of Turkey’s giants, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, and even Oviedo, who were looking for a reliable goalkeeper upon their return to the First Division’
