Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo Goes has confirmed that he had offers on the table to leave the club this past summer. The gifted forward has reaffirmed his commitment to Los Blancos in the process though.
With the arrival of Franco Mastanuono, and the development of Arda Guler this season, many foresaw Rodrygo as an obvious sale this summer for Los Blancos. Following a minor role in the Club World Cup, Rodrygo was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.
Despite the consistent transfer talk, Rodrygo was dismissive of it. Nonetheless, he did confirm that had he wanted to explore other options, they were on the table.
“The same thing happens to me every summer. Will I leave, I get offers from this or that club. Every week I was in a different team if I paid attention to what was published. Of course, there are always offers; I’m not going to lie about that,” he told Diario AS.

“But I always made it clear to the club that I want to continue succeeding here, even more than I already have. It’s a lot to have won two Champions Leagues at my age, but now I want more European Cups in this shirt.”
The Brazilian has said that he would look for a new club if Real Madrid instructed him to do so, but otherwise, he will continue wearing white.
“I’ve always said: ‘As long as Real Madrid wants me, I’ll be here.’ If one day Real Madrid says to me: ‘Rodry, find a team,’ I’ll say ‘OK.’ But that hasn’t happened. The club has always told me they count on me. And when I had a problem, they were there for me.”
“People speculated because I kept quiet. But I knew what I was going to do this season with Madrid and that I’m going to be focused on giving my best. It didn’t bother me. I was calm, and here I am… as always. This is my seventh season.”
Rodrygo was linked with a number of sides, but the most common associations were with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City. All three ended up signing other pricey forwards though, although in the case of City, their signing was only Savinho committing to a new deal. No doubt those same sides will be keeping a keen eye on developments, in case he should become available next summer, with no certainty on his role.
