Real Madrid stars hail one Bayern Munich player after UCL clash | OneFootball

A number of Real Madrid stars were quick to reveal their admiration for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer on Tuesday.

This comes after the German conjured up his latest iconic performance on the continent.

Real Madrid and Bayern are of course fresh off locking horns in the first leg of a Champions League quarter-final tie.

When all was said and done, it was the latter who emerged victorious, by a narrow margin of two goals to one.

Both sides created a number of further clear-cut chances across the 90 minutes, with hosts Real in particular having cursed their luck, in facing a Manuel Neuer in nothing short of inspired form.

Rolling back the years, the 40-year-old conjured up a string of top-class saves at the Bernabéu, on his way to the Man of the Match prize.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, fellow countryman Antonio Rüdiger was therefore quick to reveal his take that:

“Bayern’s best player tonight was Manuel Neuer, in my opinion.”

This was then followed by Aurélien Tchouaméni adding:

“We faced a legendary goalkeeper tonight.”
