Of late, there has been a lot of talk about Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. and the interest he is attracting from Saudi Arabia.
The Middle Eastern nation are ready to splash the big bucks to sign the Brazilian international in the summer and are offering a mammoth €1billion contract over five years.
Real Madrid, for their part, have no plans of letting their key forward go and have been planning to hold renewal talks for a while now.
Building on that, journalist Jorge C Picon now reports that Real Madrid have already made their first move to secure Vinicius’ future at the club by making a contract offer.
As per the report, the Merengues and the winger’s agents sat down for the first time two weeks ago to understand the intentions and limits of each party.
During this first meeting, figures were discussed, although no agreement was reached. Real Madrid presented some numbers, and now it is the turn of Vinicius’ agency, Roc Nation, who are seeking more – a back-and-forth that is typical in such negotiations.

This is not an easy negotiation, particularly for Real Madrid, who know their superstar attacker has a huge offer from Saudi Arabia in the background.
As with many other cases, the Merengues continue with their usual strategy: they will not deviate from the salary scale that has proven so successful.
Vinicius is one of the best players in the world currently, and he will be treated as such, but without making irrational decisions or exceeding the wage limits firmly set in the club’s finances.
The Brazilian international is already among the highest-paid players in the squad. Now, after making his definitive leap to become one of the best players in the world, if not the best, Real Madrid know it is time to revisit the terms of his contract.
The threat of Saudi Arabia looms large but Vinicius’ recent statement about wanting to stay and continue making history at the club fill Real Madrid with hope and optimism. With the first step now taken, talks are expected to progress in the coming months to reach an agreement.
