Real Madrid veteran stands in support of Ancelotti – ‘With him to death’ | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s defeat to Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey appears to be the final nail in the coffin for Carlo Ancelotti and his time at the club.

A defeat against the Blaugrana for the third time in the season, after all, is not an easy pill to swallow. Compounding that, however, is Real Madrid’s poor form all season which simply cannot be ignored.

Xabi Alonso has been rumoured as the best-placed candidate to replace Ancelotti as it stands, and the current Real Madrid manager is set to take the role as the new coach of the Brazilian national team.

Carvajal’s support for Ancelotti

Speaking to the media earlier today, Real Madrid veteran Dani Carvajal commented on Carlo Ancelotti’s future and assured that the squad would back him until the very end.

“We are with Ancelotti to death. We can’t doubt the coach with everything he’s given us,” he said, interacting with the media after a training session as relayed by AS.

The defender’s statements are indeed fair for Real Madrid’s shortcomings this season cannot be singled down to the manager’s incompetence. An equal part of the blame lies on the players who have continually let him down.

While Real Madrid may be out of the UEFA Champions League, the La Liga title race is still open and there is a small chance they can compete for the title.

It would, thus, be only fitting for Los Blancos to come out in support of the manager and push hard for the trophy to complete a perfect ending to Ancelotti’s time at Real Madrid.

The Italian manager appears set to leave the club at the end of the La Liga season and rumours earlier today had it that he has an agreement in place with the Brazilian national team.

Real Madrid, for their part, are arranging a grand farewell event for the Italian coach as a tribute for everything he has helped the team achieve.
