Real Madrid host AC Milan in a Champions League clash between the competition’s most successful sides this week.
The Spanish champions and iconic Italian side share 22 European Cup/Champions League crowns between them, each boasting a rich history in this competition.
Real Madrid regrouped from two goals down to thrash Borussia Dortmund last time out, while Milan got their campaign back on track by beating Club Brugge. The Rossoneri lost their opening two fixtures of the league phase.
The clash will also see former AC Mian favourite Carlo Ancelotti take on his old team. Ancelotti won two European Cups as a player with Milan before leading the side to titles in 2003 and 2007 as head coach. He has since won three Champions League trophies at Real Madrid to become the most successful manager in the competition’s history, with five triumphs.
Real Madrid remain without a host of big names, including first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian joins Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo and David Alaba on the sidelines and Andriy Lunin will deputise in goal.
Antonio Rudiger is expected to be passed fit despite concerns over a knee injury, while Luka Modric could partner Eduardo Camavinga in midfield.
Vinicius Junior, who scored a hat-trick against Dortmund on matchday three, will lead the attack alongside Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Lunin; Vazquez, Militao, Rudiger, Mendy; Valverde, Camavinga, Modric; Bellingham; Vinicius, Mbappe.
Real Madrid host AC Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday 5th November 2024. Kick-off in the Spanish capital is 20:00 GMT.
The game will be broadcast to a UK audience on on TNT Sports 1 and discovery+.
