Real Madrid are aiming to bring their three-game winless streak in La Liga to a conclusion on Sunday afternoon when they welcome struggling Girona to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Los Blancos enjoyed impressive Champions League success over the past ten days as they downed Manchester City home and away to book their place in the last 16, but they have stagnated in the defence of their La Liga crown. A defeat and two draws in their last three outings means they have been leapfrogged by Clasico rivals Barcelona at the summit.
Fortunately for Carlo Ancelotti, Madrid are facing one of the Spanish top flight's most out-of-form sides, with Girona having lost four of their last five domestic matches. The Catalan outfit, who were surprise Champions League qualifiers last term, have slumped to 11th as a result and will be fearing the worst ahead of their journey to the capital.
Here is 90min's guide to the affair.

Madrid will be without Jude Bellingham for Sunday's encounter as he serves the first match of a two-game suspension. The midfielder was sent off for verbally abusing the referee in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Osasuna.
Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal will also miss out with long-term injuries but Madrid were served with some positive injury news on Wednesday evening as David Alaba, Lucas Vazquez and Antonio Rudiger all made their comebacks.
Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Girona (4-3-3): Courtois; Vazquez, Asencio, Rudiger, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouameni, Ceballos; Rodrygo, Mbappe, Vinicius.

Yangel Herrera will be a significant absentee in midfield as he serves his suspension following a red card against Getafe last time out. The Venezuela international had scored before being given his marching orders in the 2-1 defeat.
Former Bournemouth, Tottenham and Everton forward Arnaut Danjuma is doubtful to feature having missed the last two matches with a muscle injury. Striker Abel Ruiz could also be unavailable after sitting out the clash with Getafe.
Girona predicted lineup vs Real Madrid (3-4-3): Gazzaniga; Lopez, Krejci, Blind; Martinez, Arthur, Romeu, Gutierrez; Tsygankov, Stuani, Gil.
Having demolished Man City midweek, Madrid will head into the clash with Girona full of confidence. They have stumbled in La Liga recently but have an impressive home record in the competition this season, winning nine of their 11 matches.
With Girona in dire form, there should be no route to points for Michel's side. They have the attacking quality to grab a consolation at the Bernabeu but the offensive firepower of Madrid's devastating front three should put a leaky defence to the sword.
