Real Madrid want to renew key midfielder’s contract amid Liverpool, Man United interest – report | OneFootball

Aurelien Tchouameni has been one of Real Madrid’s most reliable players in the ongoing campaign, establishing himself as a key component in the team – be it under Xabi Alonso in the past or now under Alvaro Arbeloa.

While he may not be regarded as the most technically gifted midfielder, Tchouameni stands out for his tactical awareness and positioning. In recent months, he has also worked significantly on his physical condition, something reflected in his performances.

Real Madrid and Tchouameni edging towards a renewal

As such, Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid want to renew Tchouameni’s contract, with his current deal expiring in 2028.

Los Blancos are considering extending his contract before the summer of 2027, when he would otherwise be entering the final year of his deal.

The Frenchman, for his part, remains fully committed to the club and is eager to prolong his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Interest from the Liverpool, Manchester United and other Premier League sides has not altered the player’s stance. Despite their attempts to lure him, the French international has no intention of leaving.

Despite criticism from sections of the Real Madrid fan base on occasions, Tchouameni has always been determined to succeed at the club. Highly competitive, he has never given up, turning those jeers into applause.

The former AS Monaco ace is now considered one of the most important players in the Merengues’ squad due to the balance he provides.

Money not a priority

As per the report, Liverpool and Manchester United are prepared to offer Tchouameni a salary of €12 million per season.

Real Madrid, for their part, intend to improve his current wages in their renewal proposal, although they will not disrupt the club’s wage structure by offering him the same terms as the Premier League sides.

However, this is not expected to be an issue, as the Frenchman is not seeking excessive financial demands and understands his role within the squad.
