La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week closed a deal for the club’s third signing of the summer transfer window.

This comes amid the understanding that Los Blancos have reached a full agreement with Bernardo Silva over a move to Spain’s capital.

Midfielder Bernardo is of course available as a free agent this summer, after making the call not to renew his expiring contract terms with Manchester City.

The Portuguese, in turn, was over recent weeks tipped for a La Liga switch, amid interest on the part of both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Over the last 48 hours, however, Real Madrid muscled into the picture, under the advice of new head coach José Mourinho.

And as alluded to above, such endeavours on the part of the Bernabéu brass have late this week borne fruit.

As per a report from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Bernardo Silva to Real Madrid, HERE WE GO! Agreement in place and contract approved. Two-year deal plus one-year option, fast deal by Madrid started 36h ago and closed immediately.

‘Mourinho wanted Bernardo, he says yes and advanced talks revealed today are 100% confirmed.’
