Just when it seemed like Rodri’s arrival at Real Madrid would be the club’s clear priority, Los Blancos have now shockingly begun a concurrent pursuit for a second target – this time for the right wing position.
As reported in a breaking update by multiple outlets and confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos have made a surprise entry into the race for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, and with some serious intent.
The Italian journalist confirms that Real Madrid are going ‘all-in’ for the star forward and that their interest in the player is ‘strong’. Talks are already underway, and the saga is not expected to take long.
Real Madrid are not holding back on the economic front and are set to splash the cash to bring in the right-winger.
They are said to have offered a package of €100 million for the star as of the latest update on negotiations.

Leipzig, however, have rejected that bid and are holding out for a better offer for Diomande.
Given that there is not much separating the two negotiating parties, an agreement is not expected to be far off and can be reached if Los Blancos up their offer slightly.
In any case, the German club are aware that they cannot evade Diomande’s departure this summer.
PSG were the most strongly linked and were said to have an agreement in place with the player, but Real Madrid’s entry now changes matters slightly.
The Italian journalist also clarifies the long list of clubs that are eyeing the young gem and how Real Madrid’s entry has shuffled the order of things.

PSG were leading the race for Diomande by quite some distance and the player was said to have an agreement to join Luis Enrique’s side in the ongoing transfer window.
Manchester City and Arsenal have both documented interest in the player as well, but Diomande was not open to joining them.
Real Madrid, for their part, had interest in the player close to a month ago before Michael Olise emerged as a better fit.
With the Frenchman’s signing now looking impossible, they have now shifted their focus back to Diomande, and all signs point to them ousting PSG as the favourites.
