Real Sociedad’s fan zone in Seville became severely overcrowded ahead of the Copa del Rey final, prompting National Police to manage the situation.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, hundreds of txuri-urdin supporters filled the site through the day, at times exceeding the space set aside for the club’s followers.

The intensity grew as kick-off neared, peaking shortly before 5pm. Flags flew and chants continued as a blue and white tide packed the area.

The sheer numbers, including many without tickets who wanted to experience the occasion near the stadium, led to access problems.

With the zone saturated, some supporters tried to slip through the perimeter fencing. Pressure at the entrances and those attempts forced National Police to step in to stem further entry and prevent escalation.

This is a high-risk Copa del Rey final, with the memory of Aitor Zabaleta in mind. More than 1,600 officers have been deployed, and in recent hours radical groups from Italy were identified among ultras from both fanbases alongside local groups.
