Real Sociedad set late-July England camp with Aston Villa and Wolverhampton friendlies | OneFootball

Real Sociedad will hold a late-July pre-season camp in England, playing Aston Villa and Wolverhampton in Walsall. According to AS, the Basque club will be based for five days and stage both friendlies at The Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

The squad are due to arrive on Friday 24 July and remain until Wednesday 29 July, using local facilities near Birmingham.

The first game is scheduled for Saturday 25 July at 15:00 against Aston Villa, current Europa League champions. The second is on Tuesday 28 July at 19:45 local time against Wolverhampton.

The trip follows new head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo’s wish to take the players out of their usual environment, even briefly. It will act as a competitive tune-up before they return to Donostia for the final phase of summer work.

It revives an old habit, coming nine years after their last dedicated stage. In July 2017, under Eusebio Sacristán, the squad worked in the Netherlands. Earlier, Martín Lasarte led a camp in Austria, a destination David Moyes also used alongside days in Scotland.
