One of the big disappointments of Chelsea’s season has been Liam Delap, let’s face it.
There was plenty of excitement when we signed him in the summer for what felt like a bargain price. A big battering ram player to come on as an alternate option late in games and cause havoc – what’s not to like?
Well, quite a lot it turns out. Delap has really struggled, even though he’s ended up with plenty of chances to play.
In an interview with the club’s official website, Delap spoke a little about what new manager Liam Rosenior had brought and why it was so difficult for the new man:
“It’s tough coming in when you’ve not had a full pre-season and you can get your ideas across without having games,” Delap said.
“We’ve had a game every three days since he’s come in but the messages he’s delivered to the boys and how training and meetings have been has really helped us.
“Hopefully we can keep building on that and get more information and understand him even more.”
The game against Everton is tough to be a tough one. David Moyes has made them so hard to beat, and Rosenior was singing his praises today.
There are a lot of Chelsea academy players in the latest England squad – but only one current Blue. That tells you a lot about our bad decisions.
