"I will go as an official for this game against Santos. We are still assessing it, there is the matter of authorisation, which runs until the third round. I was listed as one of the five reinforcements and it will depend a lot on how everything looks."

He told Paraguay’s Radio Monumental.

"We will think game by game and wait to see whether authorisation arrives for my registration, which was filed provisionally among the five possible reinforcements. The idea is for Recoleta to do well and for us to show our potential."

"We lost to a direct rival and the priority for us is the local tournament. We have a broad squad, the core starters will play the league and we will rotate the team for this game against Santos."

Recoleta are in Group D of the Copa Sudamericana with Santos, San Lorenzo and Deportivo Cuenca. Last year, Luis Vidal came on late against Nacional at 51 years, 11 months and 20 days, becoming the oldest player to feature in Paraguay’s top flight.

Santos face Recoleta on Tuesday at 21:30, Brasília time, at Vila Belmiro in the group stage.
