Wolves’ goalkeeper Bec Roberts saved an early effort from Grace Clinton, later blocking a Melvine Malard attempt with Ella Toone’s follow-up cleared off the line.

Malard set up the opener after 25 minutes, Elisabeth Terland pitching up her all to slot into the back of the net.

A close-range volley from Mallard went over the bar but Leah Galton doubled the lead with a deflected shot creeping in at the near post.

Malard put a second attempt over the top inside the six-yard box, under pressure from Katie Johnson.

Aoife Mannion prodded home after Terland nodded down a Millie Turner delivery and it was 4-0 moments later, as Ellie Toone netted via the post from 20 yards out.

Clinton clipped the angle of bar and post, Turner’s diving header hit the back of the net but was disallowed for offside.

Thomas spilled a late header from Turner and debutant Mared Griffiths was on hand for a tap-in to make it 5-0.

Rachel Williams had a goal ruled out by the raised flag but at the death Griffiths doubled her tally with a shot through the keeper’s hands.

The quarter-final draw on Tuesday 11 February will be streamed live on the Adobe Women’s FA Cup YouTube channel at 6.30pm.
