Regis Le Bris’ position drew unexpected attention this week after a report suggested he could be sacked without European qualification, a claim swiftly knocked back by club sources. According to talkSPORT, pressure could follow if Sunderland miss out on the continent, despite the Black Cats sitting 11th after 33 games, four points off the top six, which may yet deliver Champions League football.
Le Bris was relaxed when asked, saying his role is always open to review but that he remains closely aligned with the club’s direction.
His win rate stands at 40.9 percent, a mid-pack return among current Premier League managers. It trails the leading figures but sits above several contemporaries enjoying strong seasons, including Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and former Sunderland boss David Moyes, now at Everton.
The numbers offer added context. Sunderland have lost only 11 league matches, drawing 10 and winning 12, so the non-wins are far from routine defeats.
The list also features Liam Rosenior, dismissed by Chelsea after five straight league defeats without a goal, though he departs with a 47.8 percent overall win rate. If Sunderland put a few more wins together before the season ends, Le Bris could edge his figure towards the likes of Marco Silva, Oliver Glasner and Keith Andrews.
