Head Coach Oliver Reiss says he is happy that his side are able to see out a game until the final whistle after it helped the young Blues to a 3-2 Under 18 Premier League victory against Stoke.
Goals from Tyrone and Floyd Samba gave City the lead after 11 minutes, but the Under 18 Premier League North leaders had to dig deep and show resilience as they were forced to find a way back into the game.
And the biggest test came in the 26th minute as a looping ball in from a corner picked out McWilliams, who headed the ball past Vickery to halve the deficit, before Nzau found an equaliser within added time and we were even at the break.
Kylan Midwood proved City's saviour after Harrison Miles' whipped a corner in towards the back post with Midwood racing in to ensure a tap in and record a win at Clayton Wood.
The previous fixture saw City lose out 3-2 to Liverpool marking our first loss of the season.
And the Under 18s manager was quick to point out the improvement in tenacity following a tough test.
"We were able to increase the energy and were also smarter in possession.
"We tried to take the energy from them [Stoke] and to be able to switch in the second half and realise what is it we have to do better in the second half to get the energy back from them and take control of the game.
"[it's important] that we are able to do this at the end, a lot of teams are not able to do this as they are maybe not able to increase the important things in the second-half and we were able to do this.
"I think I said this after games like Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Man United where we weren't good enough in the first-half and then second-half we were better and won most of the games.
"We should improve this more in the future, but at least we are able to this."
