Boca have been handed a boost as goalkeeper Leandro Brey has avoided serious injury, and he could be available to face Huracán in the Torneo Apertura 2026 last 16.
According to SuperDepor.com, the alarm was raised in Guayaquil during the Copa Libertadores defeat to Barcelona de Ecuador, when Brey was forced off after a heavy collision with Byron Castillo.
After landing in Buenos Aires, the young keeper underwent routine medical tests that ruled out a serious issue, diagnosing a contusion in the pubic area caused by an inguinal impact.
The coaching staff, led by Claudio Úbeda, remain hopeful of selecting him, but his availability depends on the swelling easing and on him experiencing no discomfort when exerting himself in training.
If he does not make it, Javier García would take the gloves again, having returned to official action in Ecuador after 786 days out.
