Report: Allegri wants to bring Milan’s Rabiot with him to Napoli | OneFootball

Various reports in Italy claim that Massimiliano Allegri is keen to bring trusted midfielder Adrien Rabiot with him from Milan to Napoli, and that the Frenchman could be the perfect partner for Scott McTominay in the middle of the park.

Could Rabiot follow Allegri to Napoli?

Allegri has an agreement in place to replace Antonio Conte as head coach of Napoli on an initial two-year contract starting at the beginning of the 2026-27 campaign. It is an immediate return to coaching for the former Juventus gaffer, who was dismissed by Milan the day after the 2025-26 season came to an end.

It is an appointment that has raised eyebrows, given Allegri’s defensive reputation and Napoli’s previous approach of playing with free-flowing attackers. However, the six-time Scudetto winner is the most decorated Italian coach available aside from Conte and Aurelio De Laurentiis has given his approval.

Now, transfer rumours are already beginning to circulate.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli could potentially bid farewell to Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the near future, and if that were to be the case, it is likely that Napoli would go in search of a replacement. Recent reports claim that Allegri intends to deploy a 4-3-3 at the Stadio Maradona.

If Anguissa were to leave, there is a possibility that Napoli move to reunite Allegri with Rabiot, whom he worked with at both Milan and Juventus.

The suggestion is that Rabiot and McTominay could be deployed as duel box-to-box midfielders, perhaps with a Stanislav Lobotka-type sitting between them.

Rabiot remains under contract with Milan until the summer of 2028 and earns a reported €5.5m per season on his current Rossoneri contract.
