Arsenal’s summer transfer plans appear far from complete. Having secured the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final, Mikel Arteta is now looking to strengthen from a position of power. According to TalkSport, Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is firmly on the club’s radar.
The England international enjoyed another outstanding campaign and has quickly become one of the most coveted attacking players in the country. Villa are yet to receive a formal offer, but expectations are growing that Arsenal will make their move.
Rogers’ development has been remarkable.
The 23-year-old contributed 14 goals and 11 assists across all competitions last season, playing a pivotal role in Villa’s success. His performances helped deliver Europa League glory and further enhanced his growing reputation on the international stage.

“Villa value Rogers at a minimum of £80m but a bidding war is likely to drive that price to around £100m.”
That figure reflects both his current quality and long term potential.
Chelsea and Manchester United are also reported admirers, while Paris Saint-Germain have monitored his progress in recent months.
Rogers’ rise has been anything but straightforward.
After leaving West Brom for Manchester City, he spent time on loan at Lincoln, Bournemouth and Blackpool before eventually joining Middlesbrough permanently in 2023.
Villa moved quickly to secure his signature in early 2024, paying a fee worth up to £16 million.
That now looks like exceptional business.
Since arriving at Villa Park, Rogers has played 125 matches and scored 31 goals, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic attacking players.
TalkSport’s discussion around a potential move highlighted the differing opinions surrounding Rogers’ future.
Andy Goldstein stated: “If he’s a winner, he goes. If he’s a loser, he stays. Simple as that.”
Former Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor strongly disagreed.
“Why when he’s won stuff at Aston Villa?”
His argument carries weight. Villa have become genuine contenders under their current project and are no longer viewed as a stepping stone club.
Whether Arsenal can persuade Rogers remains uncertain, but their interest underlines his growing status among English football’s elite talents.
As football supporters, this report feels like a fascinating test of where Aston Villa currently sit in the football hierarchy.
A few years ago, losing a player like Morgan Rogers to Arsenal may have felt inevitable. Today, the conversation is different. Villa have won a European trophy, competed strongly domestically and shown they can attract and retain top level talent.
That is why Gabby Agbonlahor’s comments resonate.
“Why when he’s won stuff at Aston Villa?”
It is a fair question.
Rogers is developing into one of England’s most exciting attacking players. His combination of power, creativity and intelligence makes him valuable to almost any side in Europe. Arsenal’s interest is understandable. They are seeking players capable of making the difference in the biggest matches and Rogers fits that profile.
The concern for Villa supporters will be the financial reality. Once figures approach £100 million, difficult decisions emerge. Every club has a price, regardless of ambition.
From an Arsenal perspective, this would be a statement signing. Rogers has Premier League pedigree, international recognition and room for further growth.
For Villa fans, however, keeping him would send an equally powerful message.
The coming weeks may reveal whether this is genuine transfer momentum or simply admiration from afar. Either way, Rogers’ rise continues to be one of English football’s standout success stories.
